Location - near Times Square. Staff - very friendly and assisting in all matters.
We reserved a room for 2 persons with queen bed, but the room was very small and we hardly had space for our suitcases.

Any hotel in NYC is over priced. So when I found this place at half the cost of others I was pleased. European hotel comes to mind in terms of what you get. Very basic, but if you are just looking for a place to sleep, it works fine. The location is outstanding. It was very quite for being right at Time Square. Clean. Just a little worn and basic.
The evening clerk was totally disengaged.

Establishment calms down in the heart of New York. Very suitable comfort without excessive luxury. The location(localization) of this establishment, 49 th street, was a quality important for a stay of week.
-
Two things only would recommend it: excellent location near Broadway. and very clean (although very small) rooms.
Skimpy level of service at a high price. Staff at front desk had brusque attitude; no coffee available on site (no pot in room or urn in lobby); computers in rooms take up valuable space and don't work; fee demanded for holding our bags for 3 hours after check-out.
-
location and helpfulness and politenes of staff and the appearance of the hotel reception whilst small was comfortable
the room was very small, the bed was small 4ft-6in at best and only just fitted in the alcove with access one side only. The bed was on 4 legs and if you both sat on the end the bed tipped up. We believed we had booked a queen bed, an dthius was more like a single room with a double bed. The wardrobe was single only with only 2 draws and no where to store cases.

Located in the heart of Broadway and walking distance to moma and Times Square. Next door to the Eugene ONeil Theater where the Book of Mormon is playing.
Rooms are small; enough space for a bed. No view from any window. Decor is dated with pink or blue toile wallpaper, but it was clean and fine. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable. Staff at the desk were very nice and helpful. If you're in New York just to sleep and leave, then this is a perfectly good place to stay.

This was my second stay ay the hotel in the last two months and my experiences were nearly identical. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was small, but well-equipped and perfect for just me. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The window unit was noisy, but makes it impossible to hear anything going on outside the room, for which I was very grateful. The location is excellent...tons of food, entertainment, and night life nearby. I would definitely stay here again!

We were in New York for only 2 1/2 days. The Mayfair is in a perfect location. The subway stations are around the corner and easy to get to. The doorman at Mayfair New York made our trip memorable. He was very nice, courteous, helpful, and gave us really good advise and directions. We simply adore him. I would recommend the Mayfair to anyone looking for a great hotel with an incredible location. You can walk to Times Square, the Empire State Building, Broadway shows, and many more places. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip.
The rooms are small and need to be renovated. The carpet was definitely too old and looked really dirty (from how old it is.) I definitely did not want to walk barefooted there.

Most of call it has an excellent location and the front office staff is extremly friendly making you feel welcomed. The room was small and highly priced probably due to the season and obviously the location. Overall impression: satisfied and felt safe staying there.
The elevator needs some upgrading and this is the first time I ever have to pay for concierge, probably nyc standard of practice.

Very kind staff, excellent location, clean

Very small room, but a very good bath!

Location
Was very disappointed with this hotel choice.. on the hotel description it said that the hotel was renovated in 2005, however our room seemed to have been left out of this renovation. Also, there was some kind of generator noise coming from outside, which is very annoying and added up to the noise of the city, which lives up to its reputation as the city that never sleeps.

Location and price
Not maintained.. Lift doors rusted.. Small rooms with wallpaper look even smaller.. Though I had booked a double room .. I was told that I have booked a room with single bed. Then they upgraded it to double bed...
